MECHANISMSSlide before you spin
Follow each sliding bar to the clamp it controls.
A ring may look open yet remain held by a clamp. Follow the clamp to its partner bar before rotating that ring. Inspect the bar’s visible track to decide whether it can move horizontally or vertically.
Move along that track in a controlled stroke. Watch whether the clamp opens and whether the bar actually leaves; those are different outcomes. Do not treat a small shift as proof that a connection has released.
Our reference diagrams use S for bars and C for clamps. These are object labels, not step numbers. A move involving S4 is about the fourth bar even when it appears as the first instruction.
